Josh's kindergarten teacher had a special mother's day treat for her class this year. She had each of the kids decorate an envelope that had a special invitation to join them for Muffins with Mom's.
Our morning started off a little rushed. I had my alarm set for 6:45 so I would have plenty of time to get us all cleaned up before I dropped Seth and Paige off at our neighbors house. At 6:45 the alarm went off and I reached over and turned it off telling my self I would get up in 5 minutes. At 7:30 I looked at the alarm with that dumb-panic that I should be awake. I had 20 minutes to get myself and Josh showered, Seth and Paige dressed and in the car, dropped off at the Sheffer's and be at school. I was able to accomplish this seemingly impossible task by using some of the following time saving techniques. Forget hairbrushing or teethbrushing, skip breakfast and forget buckling to drive around the corner. Needless to say Josh didn't approve of any of this. I threw Seth and Paige in the neighbors house with a can of pringles and told them to be good!
Josh and I made just in time. Thank goodness Ms. Weiss was providing breakfast. The room was beautifully decorated with pink paper tablecloths, flower with vases, and cards from the kids. We had muffins and fruit while she read some great stories, one of my favorites "I Love You the Purplest" She asked the kids to lead us in some of their morning activities. She asked if any in the class would lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Josh raised his hand and proceeded to do an excellent job. I love to watch him with his quiet confindence. She then came over an asked Josh if he would mind if she shared one of his comments with the class. She had asked the kids a series of questions about their moms. When she asked Josh what happens when he gets in trouble he responded with "My mom still loves me." She and I got a little choked up with this. What a great kid! Below is a list of his sweet responses to her other questions.
All About My Mom, by Josh
My mom is sometimes silly.
She likes to play with me.
Her favorite place to eat is with my family.
My mom tells me that she loves me.
She always wears dresses at church.
My mom's favorite thing to do is read.
When I get into trouble, my mom still loves me.
I like it when she gives me hugs.
When we are together, my mom plays games with me.
I know my mom loves me because I love her.

Ohhhh! That made me a tad weepy myself. Maybe becasue I know Josh so well I guess.
I don't mean to sound all mormony, but Josh really has a "special spirit."
Pringles????? I am so laughing for all the times you and Paul "wondered" about what the heck the Call's were thinking, with some of the "kid" decisions we made (before you guys had lots of kids.)
