Last hurrah weekend...
We decided that we would take the kids and do something fun this weekend before school starts. Paul had not been to the beach in over a year, so we thought it would be fun to get a hotel near the beach. I have taken a liking to Crystal Cove near Newport because I have found that it does not get to crowded, probably because it is a state park.
We got down there around 1:00 pm and spent a few hours playing in the sand. We named this creation Mt. Potter. How do you like our Seaweed lava, it took Josh a while to get up the nerve to touch it. Check out Paige's face (what is going on in that head of hers) I also like this beach because of the tide pools and all of the fun aquatic life there is to look at. This is the only place where it gets crowded.
I wish you could see these little crabs better. The one Seth has in his hand is more plant than shell. Josh likes his because it is so small.
In this video the big bully white bird would not let any of the other birds have the cheetos. The bully got bullied by Seth :)

Eric LOVES Crystal Cove! Every time we go to the beach he suggests it...then I veto based on the fact that I won't pack mule Max and all the gear up and down the hill! I'm sure it is looming in my future though.
